February 10, 2012

Washington State Representative Maureen Walsh–Catholic, Republican, and mother of a lesbian daughter–speaks plainly, personally, and powerfully during the debate of that state’s now passed marriage equality bill on why she supports the measure.  One of  her best lines, describing her daughter:

“She’s still a fabulous human being. And some day, by God, I want to throw a wedding for that kid.”

Watch the entire 4:26 minute video clip for her entire speech.
